Physically……..we are in the Sea of Cortez, and will be through February 2015. March will find MARTHA and crew sailing north to the California coast; San Diego for the American Schooner Cup and Yester- year Regatta then to SanFrancisco for the Master Mariners Regatta and Great San Francisco Schooner Cup and then on to Long Beach for the TransPac Race to Honolulu, returning to the Puget Sound and Port Townsend in time for the Wooden Boat Festival.

While reflecting on the past year we are grateful on many levels. Structurally MARHTA is solid and sound. Her fitness and finish are a testament to the abilities of her community within the Port Townsend Marine Trades, the Port of Port Townsend and a wide range of friends in the NW Region. MARTHA has absolutely loved open ocean sailing. You can sense that she enjoys the the long legs of an open ocean passage where she treats her crew well and clicks off the nautical miles with spirit and speed, not unlike a spirited horse who’s been in the paddock a bit too long and has been allowed out for a good run.

MARTHA has developed a strong core crew and a growing number of friends who are taking part in her spirited adventure and we want to thank those many friends, Foundations, and Corporations who have given so generously to make MARTHA and her programs successful. We wish you all a joyous season and a happy Holiday.
