10 days of unsettled weather gives way to 3 days perfect for painting.
 Thursday hull prep lead to a Friday finish hull coat and cockpit varnish.

Saturday dawns cool and sunny with expected temps in the mid 50′s and a light breeze.
  We will coat the cabin sides and re-coat the cockpit, and of course the furniture in the shop is coming up quite well.

 With Chris grace, Bob Triggs, Holly Kays and Mary d’Arcy all helping to lift we should be able to make good use of this weather window and be ready to launch by the end of the week.
Tacoma here we come.

Learning to drive the new web site is a bit of a challenge for me, it is less complicated to drive a 103 year old schooner. The new site was designed by Keven Elliff and he spent a great deal of time teaching Holly and I what buttons to push, Thank you Keven.

Holly is in the sail loft with some students going over Martha’s sail inventory and building a new boat cover for the Shellback dingy.

Freyja Boat Works has donated the use of their staging for the haul out, sure made it easy, thanks  Arren and Bryan.

We Want to thank the many who are giving of them selves to help Martha with her 2010 season.
Bob Triggs has spent the past four days with haul out and prep, in the photo he is wooding the bow sprit.

Dave and Nancy Berg cast and donated new bronze winch bases and belay pins these bases will go nicely with the winches donated last year by John Lebowitz.

Port Townsend Rigging is providing support with use of their rigging shop so we can work the bronze parts and Dan Kulin will make new main stay sail boom parts and Anders is rebuilding the sheet winches.

The Northwest Maritime Center has partnered with the Schooner Martha Foundation with use of the work shop in Point Hudson. The use of the space is essential to maintaining the various parts of a vessel like Martha.

From December to May of 2007, Martha’s crew of shipwrights and volunteers accomplished an amazing feat of re-planking and re-framing the entire hull from the water line down. Please read some of the postings and see photos on the Woodenboat Magazine site woodenboat forum.
