Newport Harbor

As we move closer to our Santa Barbara to Channel Islands trips we are busy varnishing, painting and doing the general maintenance that MARTHA deserves and demands. Not to mention getting ready for Transpac which is on it’s way,   July will be here before we know it!

Our visit to Newport Harbor has been wonderful because of the warm invitation for us to visit the Newport Sea Base.  Sea Base is a Sea scout/ community youth aquatic center with an emphasis on boating/sailing.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon sail with the Sea Base Staff and continued our MOB training by “rescuing” yet another Mylar Balloon. We have lost count there have been so many.

We also attended the Newport Harbor Yacht Club “Yachtsmen’s Luncheon ” it was a very nice time and a wonderful lunch,  many came down to see MARTHA at the visitors dock.

Thanks to Walt Henry for the invite and to the Newport Harbor YC for their gracious accommodation.
