Fall 2013 Rap Up and 2014 Look Ahead

MARTHA  and crew have enjoyed a great season of sail training,   good weather and good friends.  We now set our sights on the Round The County race and then  the up coming winter maintenance projects which include a new suit of sails.

The new Fisherman is up and sailing and the Golly should be ready for Round the County.

We have some exciting plans for 2014 -2015.

MARTHA will be sailing down the coast to San Francisco to visit her birth place,  race in the Great San Francisco Schooner Cup,  spend the winter in Southern California and Mexico, Racing in the Yesteryear Regatta in San Diego,  Master Mariners Regatta in San Francisco and if plans go well Transpac 2015 and then home the Port Townsend August of 2015.

The ball is now rolling,  along with the new sails MARTHA is also seeking funds to up date and add needed safety equipment.

On the safety equipment end the big number is $25 000.
Most of these items represent shipboard safety/ communication equipment that is  mandated by the ISAF regulations for off shore Category 1 racing.

In each area the brand of item chosen represents the best value. In the communication area Single Side Band radio was chosen over a Imersat satellite system for reasons of cost and flexibility.
