Cabo San Lucas to LaPaz

MARTHA and crew enjoyed a wonderful adventure on the Outer Coast, beautiful anchorages, board and body surfing, friendly people who were patient with our gringo-espanol, whale watching, and of course fishing, “can you say FISH TACO”.  One could spend a lot more time along this splendid coast line.   MARTHA’s crew included a family of 4 including a 5 and 7 year old who were a super addition.    We all learned a lot form each other and look forward to more adventures together.

The wind was light in general until the 180 mile run from Bahia Santa Maria to Cabo San Lucas, when we enjoyed NW to N 8 to 17 kts with boat speeds in the 8’s, 9’s and occasionally 10’s with  a full moon and unbelievable 81 degree water.

We’ve been joined by board member Doug Jones along with Deb Dominici and Candice Cosler, great to have Port Townsend friends on board for some time.   Sunday early morning we depart for LaPaz and switch gears to Close Hauled as we climb back up through the Northerlies inside the Baja Peninsula into the Sea Of Cortez.
